4 Elements Artwork
The four elements: water, earth, fire and air; have always held value and importance to me. I wanted to create a design with each element in a circle, as they represent wholeness and eternity. I paid careful attention to the details of the design to create a consistent set of symbols that could also stand by themselves.
The "4 Element" artwork gained popularity on Pinterest and by 2018, 50,000 people had "re-pinned" the design. Since then a few people have contacted me asking for permission to get it tattooed on themselves. I love that the design started of as a personal project for myself and has become a piece that is enjoyed by many.
Custom Rose Tattoo
After the popularity of the “4 element” artwork, a few people have contacted me asking for custom designs. The “Rose Tattoo” was a custom design requested to be the same style as my previous work but in a square. The Rose was a connection to the clients mother, whose name is Rose.
Polygonal Totoro
The "Polygonal Totoro" design was a fun exercise to play around with the polygonal or geometric style. I posed each character from Studio Ghibli's "My Neighbour Totoro" in iconic positions to guarantee the availability of reference images. The result is quite cute and retains the soft feel of the characters even though the polygonal style uses sharp edges and points.
